Stanleybet Streamlines Onboarding with Jumio

Stanleybet, one of Europe’s largest gaming operators with over 2,000 branches and a growing online business, faced a costly, slow onboarding process as it shifted from retail to a hybrid model. Regulated in markets such as Italy and Belgium, the company needed to balance age and identity checks, fraud prevention and regulatory AML/PEP screening with a user-friendly experience—previously requiring players to email ID photos and wait for manual verification.

In 2021 Stanleybet implemented Jumio’s AI-powered ID verification, document verification and real-time AML screening to automate eKYC and compliance checks. The new workflow halved onboarding time, strengthened fraud and PEP screening, and supported Stanleybet’s goal of moving a larger share of players to its digital platform.
