Rappi Taps Jumio to Vet Couriers and Customers and Streamline the Onboarding Experience

Rappi, a Latin American on‑demand delivery and payments app operating across nine countries, needed to scale digital onboarding for both its RappiPay wallet and Rappi Tenderos couriers while meeting KYC and compliance requirements. The company’s prior manual ID checks were slow, error‑prone and vulnerable to impersonation, hindering growth and user trust.

Rappi implemented Jumio’s AI‑powered identity verification and authentication across key markets, using biometric selfies, multi‑ID support and CURP extraction for Mexican background checks. The automated solution reduced courier onboarding to roughly a quarter of the prior time, enabled biometric checks before deliveries, cut fraud and duplicate accounts, and helped more than 750,000 users open RappiPay accounts in Mexico and Peru.
