National Institute for Space Research - Customer Case Study

The National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Brazil’s government research institute for planning space missions, needed a faster way to support mission design and analysis. INPE worked with Julia Computing and used the Julia language to build tools for mission operational concept verification, multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO), and attitude and orbit control subsystem (AOCS) computations.

Julia Computing helped INPE develop a high-performance mission concept satellite simulator and related algorithms, which were later compiled into the SatelliteToolbox.jl package. The solution combined rapid prototyping with compiled-language-level performance, enabling the team to run optimization studies efficiently and deploy the simulator for ongoing use at the Space Mission Integrated Design Center (CPRIME).
