LakeTide, a Swedish data science consultancy and product development company, needed a fast, expressive way to turn data-driven ideas into production across customer engagements and internal products. The team, led by CTO Robert Luciani, turned to Julia Computing’s Julia language and ecosystem to support everything from AI on low-power devices to data science, product development, and custom parsing and analytics work.

With Julia Computing, LakeTide built on packages like DataFrames.jl, Flux.jl, Images.jl, and CUDA tools to develop original algorithms and deploy machine learning solutions more efficiently. The results were strong: a custom Julia ASN1 parser for telecom data ran 20x faster than the manufacturer’s Perl reference script, and the company reported being able to move seamlessly from prototype to production while becoming productive quickly in advanced domains like GPU programming and deep learning.
