BestX, now part of State Street, needed a fast and efficient way to deliver foreign exchange trade analytics without falling into the “dual language” problem of building tools once for prototyping and again for production. The team wanted a solution that could match the speed of their small, innovative analytics group while supporting best execution analysis for FX trading.

Julia Computing provided Julia to power BestX’s Post-Trade Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) tool, enabling analytics for spread, impact costs, and signaling risk. With Julia, BestX achieved production-grade performance comparable to Cython-optimized Python, running almost all analytics in less than 5 ms per trade, while simplifying development and reducing the need for separate prototype and production code.
