The customer, Jscape MFT Server, needed to map its FTP, FTPS, or SFTP server drives to a remote Samba share, either to access existing files on a separate machine or to extend its storage capacity. They utilized JSCAPE's MFT Server platform to address this integration challenge.
JSCAPE implemented a solution by setting up a Samba reverse proxy on the MFT Server that connected to the remote share, followed by the creation of a virtual path that mapped to this proxy. This allowed users to seamlessly access the remote Samba share directly through their file transfer client when logging into the JSCAPE MFT Server, effectively transmitting files to and from the extended storage without any complex user-side changes.
