Case Study: Jscape MFT Server achieves heap usage visibility with JSCAPE custom trigger functions

A JSCAPE Case Study

Jscape MFT Server logs maximum heap at 15-minute intervals with JSCAPE

The customer, Jscape MFT Server, faced challenges with server slowness during peak usage periods, such as when handling numerous concurrent file uploads and downloads. To diagnose the root cause, specifically to determine if the issue was related to memory allocation, they needed a way to monitor the Java Virtual Machine's maximum heap size in real-time using the JSCAPE MFT Server platform.

JSCAPE implemented a solution by providing a custom function called GetMaximumHeapInMb. This function was integrated into a scheduled trigger that logged the maximum heap statistics at regular intervals during a suspected peak usage window. By comparing this data with the used heap size from another function, JSCAPE enabled the customer to effectively debug performance issues and gain crucial insights into the server's memory utilization during high-load events.
