DFDS, a ferry and logistics company, faced a significant challenge when introducing an equity compensation plan for non-executive employees, as many eligible crew members at sea had limited IT literacy, financial knowledge, and unreliable computer access. They partnered with J.P. Morgan Workplace Solutions for its stock plan administration platform to facilitate the plan, but needed to ensure all participants could understand and use the system.

J.P. Morgan Workplace Solutions collaborated on a comprehensive, multi-channel communication and education plan using print, emails, letters, live webinars, and platform demos to guide employees through registration and later through the decision to sell or keep shares. This effort resulted in 702 employees successfully receiving shares, with approximately two-thirds choosing to retain their ownership, demonstrating heightened engagement. J.P. Morgan Workplace Solutions' platform now also hosts DFDS's executive LTIP.
