Case Study: Chaparral Energy reduces field asset deployment costs with Journyx

A Journyx Case Study

Chaparral Energy cuts double data entry with Journyx and tracks 20,000 monthly lines

Chaparral Energy, an independent oil and gas enterprise, faced a challenge with inefficient and duplicative data entry for its field operations. Their field hands used paper Time and Equipment sheets, which then had to be transcribed separately into both their payroll and accounting systems. This process provided no means for analyzing hours worked versus billed or for tracking equipment utilization. They implemented the Journyx time tracking system to resolve this.

The Journyx solution created a centralized database for time tracking and equipment utilization. Data entered into Journyx is extracted into custom reports and uploaded directly into Chaparral's accounting and payroll systems, eliminating the previous double data entry. This has allowed management to perform better analysis on how to deploy field assets, resulting in cost savings and a better return on investments. The system processes approximately 20,000 lines of data per month.
