How Mobile Forms Keep an Outdoor Adventure Group in the Loop

Black Outdoor Adventurers, founded and run by community manager Mina Okpi, is a New York–based group of more than 2,300 members that organizes hikes, bike rides and other outdoor events. The group struggled to collect mandatory liability waivers and attendee surveys because only about half of new participants completed forms before events and many activities take place where Wi‑Fi and cell service are unreliable; prior paper-based signings were unwieldy and hard to track.

Jotform’s solution — using Jotform and its Jotform Mobile Forms app — let the team collect, sync and search forms offline, send form links by text on the trail, and export submissions to Google Sheets for easy sorting. As a result, Black Outdoor Adventurers eliminated cumbersome paper waivers, stopped requiring every attendee to sign at each event, sped up check-in, and gained clear, searchable records of who has already signed.
