A Jostle Corporation Case Study
The City of Vernon (BC) is a municipal employer of 370+ staff serving 38,000 residents across 11 offices, many of whom work in decentralized roles or lack corporate email. Faced with siloed teams, outdated SharePoint/fileshares, a time-consuming newsletter and difficulty attracting and retaining talent, leadership needed a simple way to unify staff, share critical information and bring their culture to life.
They implemented the people‑centric Jostle intranet—accessible on any device—to centralize news, committee info, profiles and documents, and used contests to drive adoption. The result was immediate: greater sociability and knowledge sharing, faster onboarding and effective emergency communications (e.g., during a forest fire), a move away from paper lists, and sustained engagement with about 86% of users logging in monthly, helping Vernon become a more connected, desirable employer.
