YOTEL is a UK-based "affordable luxury" hotel brand with 225 employees across six city/airport locations and plans for further international growth. As the company expanded into new cities and time zones, email no longer reached a diverse, transient workforce or reliably conveyed YOTEL’s values, culture, and recognition programs—so they needed a simple, central online communication hub.
YOTEL implemented Jostle’s People Engagement intranet to create a mobile-accessible central hub (NEWS, Activity, TEAMS/PEOPLE views) that reduced internal email, achieved about 70% monthly participation, and made onboarding, values reinforcement (31 simple service practices) and recognition (including the “Shaggy Awards”) visible company-wide. The platform helped keep the brand and service consistent as they opened new hotels (e.g., New York, Paris), improved connectivity across time zones, and strengthened company culture.
