Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) is a government organisation that supports teachers and school leaders to meet national teaching standards. Facing fragmented communication—relying on a shared file repository and heavy email—AITSL needed a single, easy-to-use hub to bring staff together and prepare for hybrid work; they launched a Jostle intranet, nicknamed “Yabber,” to address this.

Using a staged rollout that moved key communications into Jostle News, trained local reporters quickly, and standardized visuals and categories, AITSL shifted almost all internal comms out of inboxes and into the intranet. The Activity feed and Shout‑Outs amplified culture and peer recognition, driving outstanding engagement, faster onboarding, equal access for remote staff, and a strong foundation for hybrid work.
