A Jostle Corporation Case Study
Alden School District, a four‑school district in New York with 260 faculty and staff serving 1,700 K–12 students, struggled with one‑dimensional SharePoint file storage and inefficient company‑wide email communications that clogged servers, spread outdated attachments, and left staff disconnected from one another. They were looking for a tool that would improve news sharing, make it easy to find documents, and strengthen community by putting faces to names.
After adopting the Jostle intranet in 2012 (initially funded by a grant), Alden centralized news, documents and calendars and used the PEOPLE wall, NEWS, LIBRARY and EVENTS features to boost engagement. The platform delivered clear results: staff participation reached about 88% monthly, email volume dropped roughly 25%, IT requests declined, people found information faster, and the district reports a stronger, more connected community.
