Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (HSFCU) is a not‑for‑profit credit union in Hawaii with 260 employees across nine locations, serving over 90,000 members and holding more than $1.4 billion in assets. After 75 years the organization had outgrown its brand, offices and internal communication tools, leaving employees disconnected from each other and from leadership. The new CEO prioritized employee experience and a cultural rebrand—“Always right by you.”—to align staff behavior with better member service.
HSFCU paired the rebrand with a new Jostle intranet to replace dated SharePoint pages and noisy all‑staff emails, focusing on transparency, recognition and easy employee profiles. The intranet drove strong engagement—about 10 news posts per week, regular Shout‑Outs averaging 46 likes, and 84% of staff logging in weekly (94% monthly)—and helped sustain year‑round connection, peer appreciation and improved member-facing service.
