Advance Local worked with Subtext to give its advertising sales team a new, results-oriented product to sell beyond traditional print and digital display. Local advertisers wanted measurable engagement and direct customer connections, and the team needed a turnkey solution that could drive business outcomes while remaining easy to pitch and deliver.
Subtext helped Advance Local and Syracuse.com launch Syracuse Dining Deals, an SMS-based sponsorship program for local restaurant advertisers that used weekly deal texts, multi-channel promotion, and limited sponsorship slots. The four-month pilot generated new revenue and measurable results for the sales team and advertisers, ultimately producing $19K+ in expected annualized new revenue and proving SMS could be a strong new revenue stream for Advance Local.
