Yale-New Haven Hospital - Customer Case Study

Yale-New Haven Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the United States, needed to modernize and centralize security across more than 12 aging and newly built sites. Its mix of access control and video systems wasn’t scalable for major expansions like the Smilow Cancer Hospital, creating challenges for managing doors, cameras, credentials, and security operations across the enterprise. Johnson Controls served as the systems integrator, helping drive the upgrade.

Johnson Controls implemented Software House C•CURE 9000 access control and American Dynamics victor unified video management, creating a centralized security platform for the hospital network. The solution unified access, video, alarms, and reporting across more than 1,000 doors, 800+ cameras, and over 12,000 workers, while supporting phased migration without reissuing credentials to nearly 20,000 employees. The hospital also gained improved reporting, easier remote management, and a scalable foundation for future sites.
