WinnaVegas Casino Resort - Customer Case Study

WinnaVegas Casino Resort, owned and operated by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska in Sloan, Iowa, needed to expand security across its growing casino, hotel, event, and parking facilities. As the resort added gaming space and more than 400 employees and thousands of monthly guests moved through the property, it wanted a more unified, scalable security system that could integrate access control and video, support existing analog cameras, and reduce latency and bandwidth concerns. Johnson Controls addressed these needs with a solution built around victor Unified Client, VideoEdge NVRs, and Illustra IP cameras.

Johnson Controls implemented a phased migration to IP video using victor Unified Client as a single interface for live and recorded video, alarms, and door management, while preserving existing analog investments. The new system delivered high-definition, low-latency surveillance, faster PTZ control, lower bandwidth usage, and Smart Search for quicker incident review; six 30 TB servers were deployed for storage, including one failover server. The result was a seamless, backward-compatible platform that improved operational efficiency and gave WinnaVegas a flexible foundation for future expansion, including the potential to manage all three tribal casinos from one system.
