Uniphar Group, a Dublin-based pharmaceutical distributor serving community pharmacies, hospitals and veterinary surgeries across Ireland, needed to strengthen security and gain better visibility into its new €65m West Dublin warehouse. Working with Johnson Controls’ security technology and integrator Pioneer Security, the company sought an upgraded IP CCTV system to replace aging analogue cameras and help track the order-fulfillment process in a highly regulated, temperature-controlled environment.

Johnson Controls provided an IP-based video surveillance solution using Illustra cameras, VideoEdge recorders and the victor video management system. The deployment more than doubled Uniphar’s camera count to over 250, added 31 viewing monitors, and enabled managers to monitor and review the full picking, packing and shipping workflow from a separate LAN. As a result, Uniphar gained stronger internal control, improved security and quality oversight, and a scalable platform that can support future expansion.
