Thrifty King - Customer Case Study

Thrifty King, a family-owned grocery chain with stores in Kansas and Colorado, needed a common intrusion alarm platform that would be easy for store managers and the owner to monitor locally or remotely. Working with Johnson Controls’ DSC brand through integrator Alert Alarm Co., the company sought a flexible security solution that could protect large remodeled and new-construction sites without costly rewiring or disruption to daily operations.

Johnson Controls implemented DSC PowerSeries Neo with PowerG Technology, along with keypads, wireless door/window contacts, PIR motion detectors, and an Alarm.com communicator. The system delivered reliable wireless coverage across stores of more than 30,000 square feet, handled long transmission distances without repeaters, and supported multiple partitions for separate grocery and liquor store areas. As a result, Thrifty King gained remote status monitoring, easier system management, and scalable protection for future needs such as additional sensors and foot-traffic tracking.
