A Johnson Controls Case Study
De Groot, a Dutch family-owned electrical, cooling, and fire-safety systems company, took on the challenge of fire-protecting De Rotterdam, one of the largest projects in the Netherlands. The project required installing around 14,000 sprinkler heads across 40 floors, with 65 km of pipework, difficult site access to water, and piping embedded in concrete. Johnson Controls supplied Tyco® sprinklers, valves, and related fire protection components for the job.
Johnson Controls helped De Groot deliver the project with a complete fire-suppression solution, including Tyco LFII Residential Sprinklers, Tyco Extended Coverage Sprinklers, control valves, check valves, and flow switches, backed by engineering support. The successful installation strengthened De Groot’s reputation and helped it win new contracts worth more than £5 million, including work at the Royal Flora Holland Auction and the KPN Tower in Rotterdam.
