Newpark Mats & Integrated Services (NMIS), a manufacturer of portable road and jobsite staging solutions in Carencro, Louisiana, needed a faster, more consistent chilled water supply to increase production and support growing demand. Its existing cooling tower could not reliably deliver the water temperatures needed for its plastics manufacturing process, so NMIS turned to Johnson Controls for a turnkey chilled water system solution.

Johnson Controls engineered and installed a system featuring a YORK® 527-ton air-cooled chiller, an expansion tank, and digital controls to stabilize water temperature and improve efficiency. The new system provided a constant chilled water supply, helping NMIS produce mats more quickly and in larger quantities with less process fluctuation; during construction, Johnson Controls also supplied a rental chiller that enabled increased production capacity within 30 days.
