Millworks Custom Manufacturing - Customer Case Study

Millworks Custom Manufacturing, a Toronto-based custom millwork and fabrication company, needed a new intrusion security system for its 140,000+ square foot facility. The site’s thick steel barrier walls, U-shaped layout, multiple adjacent buildings, and 24-hour operations made hardwired expansion expensive and time-consuming, while the company also needed reliable monitoring of dozens of perimeter doors and valuable inventory. Johnson Controls, through Tyco Security Products’ PowerSeries Neo platform, addressed these challenges with a scalable wireless solution.

Johnson Controls implemented a PowerSeries Neo system with PowerG wireless technology, including wireless door contacts, repeaters, keypads, and WebSA System Administrator Software for door monitoring and remote visibility. The system enabled reliable communication through difficult building materials, simplified installation, and supported future expansion with up to 128 zones. As a result, Millworks Custom Manufacturing gained around-the-clock door monitoring, easier maintenance, and a secure system that could be installed in about a month despite the facility’s complexity.
