A Johnson Controls Case Study
Iceland, one of the UK’s fastest-growing food retailers with more than 850 stores, needed a major overhaul of its store safety and security systems. Johnson Controls, working through the Tyco team referenced in the case study, was brought in to review Iceland’s risks and requirements and help upgrade its intruder alarm and signalling path systems with minimal disruption to store operations.
Johnson Controls implemented a comprehensive security upgrade including Intruder Galaxy alarm systems, dual-path signalling (IP and GPRS), HD CCTV maintenance, and fire and freezer monitoring. The results included stronger protection for stores and assets, remote handling of many false alarms and faults, and an increase in police-response coverage from 200 to over 800 stores; the solution also supported energy management through BMS connectivity.
