Forth Valley Royal Hospital - Customer Case Study

Forth Valley Royal Hospital, a £300 million new hospital development in Stirlingshire, Scotland, needed a highly robust fire detection system to protect patients, staff, and visitors while also minimizing disruptive false alarms. Johnson Controls, operating through Tyco-branded fire protection solutions, supplied technology including Minerva MX2-211 fire panels, smoke detectors, MX graph systems, FM200 extinguishing systems, and smoke fire dampers.

Johnson Controls worked with Crown House Technologies to design and install a bespoke fire protection solution across the 4,000-room, 25-ward, 860-bed hospital, including 28 fire panels, 5,300 smoke detectors, 112 loops, 5 MX graph systems, 4 FM200 systems, and more than 2,500 smoke fire dampers. Johnson Controls also developed an electronic damper control module and digital Minerva MX2 system to automate smoke containment, support robot traffic control in fire zones, and reduce false alarms, leaving the hospital better protected and highly praised by the customer for its technology and service.
