Dublin Port Tunnel - Customer Case Study

Dublin Port Tunnel, one of Ireland’s largest civil engineering projects, needed a comprehensive security management solution to centrally monitor and control the entire 5.6 km tunnel site from its main on-site control room. Johnson Controls, through CEM’s AC2000 SE access control platform, was used to integrate multiple security systems including access control, intruder alarms, intercoms, CCTV, and SCADA monitoring into a single management environment.

Johnson Controls implemented CEM AC2000 SE with integration to the tunnel’s central SCADA system, plus intelligent S9020 IP controllers for distributed resilience at remote buildings. The solution enabled automatic and operator-driven responses to alarms and events, improved centralized oversight, and maintained operation even if host communications were temporarily lost, helping Dublin Port Tunnel open as a fully operational secure transport link.
