BT Northern Ireland - Customer Case Study

BT Northern Ireland, one of Europe’s leading telecommunications providers, needed a secure, scalable way to control access and monitor more than 22 sites across Northern Ireland, including sensitive areas like its Belfast headquarters and e-Solutions Data Centre. Working with Johnson Controls, the company used the CEM AC2000 SE access control and central monitoring system to manage card-based access, alarm monitoring, and card issuance across its locations.

Johnson Controls implemented AC2000 SE with over 200 readers, VIPPS card production, and MIMIC alarm monitoring workstations, and later integrated iris recognition for a two-stage authentication process at the Data Centre. The result was a highly reliable, flexible security platform that strengthened protection for critical sites, improved access control for specific user requirements, and delivered additional biometric security to meet BT Northern Ireland’s evolving needs.
