A John Galt Solutions Case Study

Preview of the Thiele Case Study

Thiele builds a flexible and effective forecasting process using Demand Management Engine & Planning Portal

Thiele, a Georgia‑based processor and global supplier of kaolin clay, faced ineffective planning from a homegrown forecasting system that simply copied the prior year’s numbers and prevented meaningful adjustments or integration with their ERP. Seeking a solution that could generate a statistical baseline, allow sales to revise forecasts, and push the final plan back into ERP, Thiele engaged John Galt Solutions and adopted the Atlas Planning Suite components, notably the Demand Management Engine and Planning Portal.

John Galt Solutions implemented the Demand Management Engine and Planning Portal, provided training, and built custom ERP interfaces so sales reps could edit baselines through the Planning Portal. The result: a flexible forecasting process with a measurable statistical baseline, clear sales accountability (baseline vs. actual), and a dramatic reduction in planning time from 2–3 hours to about 15 minutes—enabling more certain production planning and support for future positioning and expansion.
