The Container Store Gains Visibility to Their End-to-End Supply Chain

The Container Store, a national retail leader in storage and organization, faced fragmented planning built around an old ERP, legacy replenishment tools and spreadsheets that left them without visibility to customer demand, supplier deliveries or store-level inventory flows. To meet goals of higher customer service, lower inventory and reliable SKU-week forecasts for suppliers, The Container Store partnered with John Galt Solutions and implemented the Atlas Planning Suite to integrate forecasting and replenishment into buyers’ workflows with minimal IT overhead.

John Galt Solutions used Atlas Planning Suite to centralize demand forecasting and drive manufacturing, DC and store replenishment, giving The Container Store visibility to received goods and inventory flow. The result: decreased inventory levels while increasing customer service levels, improved forecast accuracy and reliable supplier replenishment plans, higher inventory turns, avoidance of stock-outs on popular items and the rapid realization of profitability improvements — and the company now runs a company-wide S&OP process informed by Atlas.
