Syngenta Builds Multi-National Collaborative Sales and Operations process with Atlas Planning Suite from John Galt Solutions

Syngenta, a global leader in crop protection and seeds, faced a highly seasonal, multinational market and needed to build a collaborative Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across products, regions and foreign subsidiaries. The company sought a web-enabled solution to replace emailed spreadsheets, give business units shared visibility into sales, inventory and marketing plans, link financial targets to market demand and operations, and enable multilingual/multi-currency collaboration. Syngenta selected John Galt Solutions and its Atlas Planning Suite to address this challenge.

John Galt Solutions implemented the Atlas Planning Suite S&OP module and later the Demand Management Engine to create a centrally controlled, web-based forecasting and planning process. Approximately 200 individuals across three countries now use the S&OP system, the forecast is “live” instead of updated monthly, spreadsheet workload has been eliminated, and Syngenta has improved forecast accuracy, inventory management and production flexibility (make-to-order vs. make-to-stock). John Galt Solutions’ training and project management accelerated adoption and helped Syngenta better manage gaps between forecasted demand and actual results.
