A JobRouter Case Study
Konstanz University of Applied Sciences faced a slow, paper-based workshop order process (backed by a Microsoft Access database) that caused missing cost‑center information, long throughput times and high administrative overhead in its mechanical and student project workshops. To modernize and digitize the workflow the university selected the workflow management system JobRouter.
JobRouter implemented a digital workshop‑order workflow in a five‑day rapid‑prototyping project (1‑day workshop + 4 days implementation), adding cost‑center functionality, an electronic query button, CAD/document attachments, central access and easy integration with existing systems. The JobRouter solution delivered 100% workflow execution in trial runs, reduced paper use, administrative effort and throughput times, improved order quality and reporting, and is expected to be adopted by roughly 100 professors and staff.
