MRS Machining is a family-owned precision machining job shop (founded in 1986) serving oil & gas, aerospace, energy, medical, food service and industrial customers. After winning a major government contract in late 1996, MRS faced an immediate need for an ERP/shop management system and the ongoing industry challenge of recruiting and retaining younger skilled workers. To solve the operational and financial visibility gap they selected JobBOSS in 1997, adopting its shop management system and Accounting module.

JobBOSS delivered an integrated shop management and accounting solution that let MRS track finances and shop operations in one system, and in 2017 donated a free JobBOSS system to local Cardinal Manufacturing so students train on the exact software used at MRS. The result: over 20 years of JobBOSS use, a steady pipeline of hires from Cardinal already proficient on MRS tools and ERP, recognition as a Modern Machine Shop Top Shop in Human Resources (2017), and an average employee age of 31—well below the national manufacturing average—demonstrating measurable recruiting and retention impact.
