The London DNA Foundry unlocks the power of automated experimentation with design of experiments in JMP

London DNA Foundry, a synthetic biology automation lab, needed to improve the statistical power and reproducibility of its research while making complex experimental design easier for scientists with limited statistics training. The team used JMP alongside its robotic automation platform to support design of experiments (DOE) for gene assembly and other genetic engineering workflows.

JMP helped London DNA Foundry build a software layer that translated DOE plans into robot-readable instructions, creating a “click-and-go” system for automated experimentation. The result was smarter replication, less manual lab work, better reproducibility, and stronger data interpretation—allowing researchers to spend more time on modeling, analysis, and next-step innovation.
