Tellabs uses JMP to improve collaboration with contract manufacturers

Tellabs, a telecommunications company, needed to collaborate more efficiently with contract manufacturers to produce more reliable products and better understand whether production yields were truly meeting expectations. The company turned to JMP, using statistical process control charts and predicted-yield P charts to add more visibility to manufacturing performance and improve communication with suppliers.

With JMP, Tellabs implemented scripts and reports that contractors could use in weekly improvement meetings, helping them arrive prepared to discuss issues and begin solving them proactively. The result was better collaboration, faster issue identification, and stronger process control; JMP also helped Tellabs improve customer return analysis and root-cause investigation, giving the team a clearer view of expected failure rates and where action was needed.
