Semiconductor manufacturer SMIC observes dramatic time and monetary savings

SMIC, one of the world’s leading semiconductor foundries, needed a way to speed up experimentation and data analysis while keeping tools easy for engineers of varying technical skill levels. The company turned to JMP and later JMP Pro to support design of experiments, modeling, and advanced analytics without adding complexity to everyday workflows.

JMP implemented an analytics toolkit built around JMP and JMP Pro, and SMIC also used JMP Scripting Language to create a custom multi-user data analysis platform. As a result, SMIC reported savings in time and money, improved equipment performance, better product quality, and faster release from R&D to manufacturing; 80 to 100 engineers now use JMP regularly for advanced analysis.
