Reducing the cost of producing biofuels

Novozymes, a Denmark-based bio-innovation company, needed a better way to find more efficient enzymes for producing biofuels and improving the economics of its enzyme products. The company used JMP statistical discovery software, including design of experiment tools and multivariate analysis, to test enzyme candidates and optimize reaction conditions.

Using JMP, Novozymes was able to analyze experimental data more effectively and compare enzyme performance across applications. JMP helped Novozymes achieve a major reduction in the cost of producing biofuels from corn and cellulosic biomass, supporting a more cost-effective and sustainable process for commercially viable biofuels.
