Case Study: Animal Humane Society achieves better pet placement and fundraising insights with JMP

A JMP Case Study

Preview of the Animal Humane Society Case Study

Once upon a time, Animal Humane Society used predictive modeling to place pets into loving homes

Animal Humane Society, formed by merging five Minnesota animal organizations, faced a major data challenge: 30 years of records were spread across nine databases and 32 data sources, with duplicates, gaps, and incompatible formats that made it hard to understand and engage donors, adopters, volunteers, and other supporters. The organization needed a way to unify its information and uncover who overlapped across stakeholder groups.

JMP helped Animal Humane Society and its analytics partner Isometric Solutions consolidate and analyze roughly 300,000 records in a single JMP file. With JMP, they uncovered lifetime value and engagement patterns, improved donor and adopter targeting, built 360-degree stakeholder profiles, and sharpened fundraising and event strategy; one example showed donor lifetime value rising from $466 to double or triple when people also adopted or boarded/trained. The result was more precise communications and strategic decision-making, with AHS saying JMP helped them learn more in under a year than in the previous six years.
