Pierre Fabre, the second-largest dermo-cosmetics laboratory and a major French pharmaceutical group, faced recurring out-of-specification (OOS) production issues and tightening FDA/EMA validation requirements across complex manufacturing lines. The team needed a statistical solution that could support process validation, root cause analysis, and broader quality work; they chose JMP for its flexibility and ease of use across different skill levels.

Using JMP, Pierre Fabre’s engineers analyzed years of historical production data with tools such as correlation matrices, regression, partitions, and the Prediction Profiler to pinpoint the causes of the OOS batches and refine raw material settings. JMP helped the company implement targeted process improvements that eliminated OOS batches after 2017, avoiding losses of several hundred thousand euros and improving efficiency, while also creating a foundation for further optimization projects.
