JMP add-ins make learning more interactive and more fun

Boston University wanted to make introductory statistics courses more engaging and interactive for students. Working with JMP, professors Luis Carvalho and Ian Johnston looked for a way to move beyond traditional worksheets and calculators, using JMP and JMP Scripting Language to bring real data analysis into the classroom.

JMP helped Boston University implement custom add-ins that turned worksheets into interactive labs, including simulations and dynamic activities like coin flips and the Monty Hall problem. As a result, students became more engaged, debated results more actively, and gained a better understanding of statistical concepts, all while using JMP’s easy-to-use interface and real-time analysis tools.
