Case Study: Janssen achieves safer pharmaceutical product surveillance with JMP

A JMP Case Study

Preview of the Janssen Case Study

Janssen Research & Development surveillance physicians are proactively surveilling medicinal products to detect and prevent potential drug safety risks

Janssen Research & Development, part of Johnson & Johnson, needed a better way to produce ever-safer pharmaceutical products by detecting and evaluating potential adverse events more effectively. To support pharmacovigilance, Janssen used JMP statistical discovery software as a key component of its SMART (Signal Management for Adverse Events in Real Time) system, helping surveillance physicians sort through large volumes of safety data and patient narratives.

JMP delivered a flexible, user-friendly solution with dashboards, Graph Builder, Application Builder, scripting, and Citrix deployment for centralized management. As a result, Janssen’s surveillance physicians can proactively explore safety risks, streamline documentation, generate reports more easily, and find relevant cases faster—improving the efficiency of adverse-effect detection and evaluation.
