A JMP Case Study
The Center for Music and the Arts in Education (CMAIE) needed a way to analyze complex, multivariate education data to prove the impact of arts integration on student achievement and communicate the findings clearly to funders. To meet this challenge, CMAIE used JMP statistical discovery software to study four years of test scores and related data from Chicago schools.
With JMP, the Center for Music and the Arts in Education uncovered that schools integrating arts education not only improved standardized test scores but also narrowed the achievement gap for at-risk students. JMP’s visual analytics made the results easy to explain to federal officials and other audiences, helping CMAIE secure multiple grants, including the first federal grant ever awarded to an arts organization from the Fund for the Improvement of Secondary Education.
