Innovation reigns at W. L. Gore Japan as engineers focus on waterproof material

W.L. Gore & Associates, through its Gore Japan subsidiary, needed a more efficient, statistics-driven approach to product development and experimentation across the organization. To support this, the company adopted JMP as its standard statistical analysis tool to replace spreadsheet limitations and reduce reliance on programming-heavy software.

Using JMP, Gore Japan implemented more effective design of experiments (DOE) and expanded hands-on statistics training for engineers and new recruits. The result was a transformed experimentation process that helped teams identify optimal factor combinations for product quality more efficiently, while also improving employees’ statistical skills and broadening the use of data analysis across the business.
