Genetic sequencing leads to critical discoveries in schizophrenia research at the National Center for Genome Resources

The National Center for Genome Resources, a nonprofit research institute, needed to boost biological discoveries in schizophrenia research using next-generation genetic sequencing. To handle the growing volume of sequencing data, the team used JMP Genomics from JMP alongside its in-house Alpheus system and Illumina sequencing technology.

JMP Genomics dynamically linked statistical analysis with advanced graphics to help NCGR filter, analyze, and visualize gene expression and sequence variation data. The solution enabled researchers to quickly spot case/control differences, reduce thousands of genes to a manageable set for follow-up, and achieve more precise results from 14 schizophrenia cases and 6 controls, helping support faster discovery and more publishable findings.
