Case Study: Bridgestone achieves faster R&D and better tire formulations with JMP

A JMP Case Study

Preview of the BridgeStone Case Study

Finding efficiencies in rubber formulation using statistical analysis

BridgeStone, the global tire manufacturer, needed to create efficiencies in product development by using new and historical data to design better experiments for complex rubber formulations. The company also faced the challenge of aligning R&D practices across international sites while improving speed and decision-making in high-performance tire development, using JMP.

JMP was rolled out across Bridgestone’s organization to support design of experiments, mixture design, and statistical analysis for rubber compound development and production optimization. As a result, Bridgestone shortened the time needed to analyze and explore data, expanded usage to nearly 40 JMP users in one department, and developed a new tire prototype now undergoing road tests with improved traction, longevity, fuel efficiency, and robustness.
