Engineers apply JMP and innovative thinking to create cutting-edge electronics

Murata Manufacturing, a global leader in high-end electronics and miniaturized components, needed a more data-driven way to improve manufacturing processes and product design as product cycles shortened and complexity grew. To support this, Murata adopted JMP for data mining and multivariate analysis to help its Monozukuri Enhancement Department uncover process improvement opportunities from massive production datasets.

Using JMP, Murata translated production data into real-time insights that identified factors affecting ceramic shrinkage in the calcination process. As a result, Murata stabilized shrinkage variation, reduced product size by narrowing gaps between parts, and created a more systematic way to evaluate operations across departments.
