A JMP Case Study
DETERTEC, a Quito-based R&D service provider for consumer products and laundry markets, faced the challenge of making detergent research faster, cheaper, and more closely aligned with real consumer perceptions. Traditional in vivo, in vitro, and spectrometric methods were costly, slow, and not flexible enough, so DETERTEC turned to JMP statistical software from JMP to support its data-heavy modeling and virtual R&D work.
Using JMP, DETERTEC built LaundryVisualLab™, a customizable simulation system that virtualizes fabric appearance and consumer perceptions of cleanliness and whiteness across different visual environments. JMP’s scripting, modeling, and 3D visualization capabilities helped DETERTEC process massive datasets and develop models with more than 95% correlation to actual consumer responses, speeding calculations and enabling innovations that were previously not possible. The result was a strong competitive advantage for DETERTEC and a more robust position with clients, reinforcing its role as an innovation partner.
