Cree Inc. uses JMP statistical software from SAS to identify, analyze and address imperfections in its manufacturing process

Cree, Inc., the LED lighting innovator based in Durham, NC, needed to keep its manufacturing process efficient while producing high-quality, energy-saving LEDs. Using JMP, Cree’s engineering team worked to analyze process data and investigate a defect found by a downstream customer that could have affected yield.

With JMP, Cree visualized defect trends, quickly gathered and queried data, built models, and identified a critical interaction between two process tools. JMP helped Cree pinpoint the root cause and drive the defect rate back down to zero, improving the manufacturing process and supporting continued innovation.
