A JMP Case Study
AIM Autosport, competing in open-wheel racing, needed a way to gain a competitive edge by cutting lap times and reducing costly track-testing in the Star Mazda Championship Series. The team turned to JMP statistical discovery software from JMP to analyze race-car data and understand how setup variables affected performance.
Using JMP, AIM Autosport and DMH Racing designed experiments, modeled relationships such as tire pressure and wing settings, and predicted optimal car setups for different track conditions. The result was faster laps, including a drop from 121 seconds to 119 seconds, plus hundreds of thousands of dollars saved in testing through more efficient data collection and preparation.
