Thruway Fasteners, a distributor since 1958 serving customers in 40 states and 28 countries with over 100,000 parts and Vendor Managed Inventory programs, needed a way to prevent costly production shutdowns from missing components, support 24/7 ordering, and simplify ordering of many small, similar parts tied to customer-specific numbers and blanket POs. To address these challenges they worked with jLan Mobile and deployed a customized jLan Mobile Sales Tablet Edition.
jLan Mobile delivered Windows-based tablet stations with barcode readers, preconfigured customer parts lists, blanket PO numbers and contract pricing, integrated directly with Thruway’s Microsoft Dynamics GP for real-time order fulfillment. The solution lets customers scan items and send orders instantly for same-day or next-day shipment, reduces sales-rep visits, streamlines lean/JIT inventory processes, increases productivity and helps assure zero stock-outs.
