How IKEA Portland Became a Leader in Gift Registry

IKEA Portland wanted to enter the $30B gift-registry market but faced limited in-house development capacity and a tight budget for ongoing maintenance and integration. To launch its first multichannel registry without heavy IT overhead, IKEA Portland partnered with Jifiti and adopted Jifiti’s SaaS gift-registry platform and stored-value redemption approach.

Jifiti delivered a fully branded, multichannel solution (desktop, mobile web, iOS/Android apps and in‑store kiosks) with features like in-store barcode scanning, mobile catalogs, guest purchases, a group-gifting “Chip-In” option, and MasterCard-backed redemption that lets recipients spend funds anywhere in-store. The Jifiti implementation minimized integration and IT resources, went live within 90 days, streamlined gift redemption to reduce returns, and gave IKEA Portland a scalable registry capability across channels.
